Guy Dunscomb Award of Outstanding Achievement: This award is the highest accolade the SPH&TS can present, and shall be known as the “Guy Dunscomb Award of Outstanding Achievement.” This award will be presented to persons whom have accomplished notable work as an author, photographer, videographer, preservationist, historian, or those whom otherwise have shown an exemplary action that furthers the preservation of the history of the Southern Pacific. The recipient must be living at the time of presentation. This award does not have to be given annually, but will be presented at the annual meeting in the year that it is awarded. The Board of Directors will determine who may receive the award. As a member of the selection committee, a sitting SPH&TS Officer or Director may be nominated for the award if they meet the criteria.
